Solar panels grant ireland
SEAI solar panel grants provide up to €1,800 towards installation costs for Irish homeowners.
Grant amounts
By system size:
- 2 kWp or less: €700 per kWp (€1,400 at 2 kWp)
- 2-4 kWp: €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp (€1,600 at 3 kWp)
- 4 kWp or more: €1,800 (maximum)
Battery storage: not grant-aided in Ireland — there is no separate SEAI battery grant.

- Primary residence
- Built before 2021
- Current BER (within 10 years)
- Use SEAI-registered installer

Your installer applies on your behalf:
- Get quotes from registered installers
- Accept quote
- Installer submits application
- Approval (5-10 days)
- Installation
- Grant payment to installer

Typical 4 kW system:
- Total: €7,200
- Grant: €1,800 (solar only — batteries are not grant-aided)
