SEAI solar panel grants provide up to €1,800 towards installation costs for Irish homeowners.

Grant amounts

By system size:

  • 2 kWp or less: €700 per kWp (€1,400 at 2 kWp)
  • 2-4 kWp: €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp (€1,600 at 3 kWp)
  • 4 kWp or more: €1,800 (maximum)

Battery storage: not grant-aided in Ireland — there is no separate SEAI battery grant.

  • Irish homeowners
  • Primary residence
  • Built before 2021
  • Current BER (within 10 years)
  • Use SEAI-registered installer

Application process

Your installer applies on your behalf:

  1. Get quotes from registered installers
  2. Accept quote
  3. Installer submits application
  4. Approval (5-10 days)
  5. Installation
  6. Grant payment to installer
